Institutional Research

The Institutional Research (IR) office is responsible for collecting, interpreting, and disseminating university information to both internal and external constituencies through routine and ad hoc reports. This information supports institutional management, planning, and decision making and serves as a basis for reports and surveys requested from governmental and commercial agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of Education IPEDS reports and college guidebook surveys).

Institutional Research is dedicated to making information easily accessible to users on campus. In a joint effort with MIS, Institutional Research maintains a data warehouse to preserve BYUH data history and supports the Business Objects reporting tool that is used to access that data. In addition, IR supports faculty members in updating the Faculty Profile database and annual reports to academic leaders.

The Institutional Research office also supports research conducted on campus by providing information and reports to faculty and students as requested. In addition, IR sponsors Student Research Associateships to give students valuable research and/or development experience in their chosen fields of study.
